Our Fossil Creek Angus breeding herd is based on the 1100 hectare Newhaven hill block, owned by Fossil Creek Angus Limited directors and shareholders, Blair and Jane Smith.

This farm lies sits on the Kakanui Mountain Range and gives our stud the ability to challenge our cows in the climatic conditions that mirror the challenges that their genetics will face, on commercial properties throughout the country.

A tight calving pattern, easy calving on the hill blocks and the ability to get in calf at 15 months of age, and again easily a year later are all key performance indicators that we place a huge importance on. 

We need to ensure that our stud cows live up to the highest of expectations in the field as well as on paper and this, we guarantee is one of our guiding principles.
