Our Fossil Creek Angus breeding herd is based our 1,100 hectare hill block at Five Forks which is where we live and just up the road from where our annual Bull Sale is held.

This farm lies sits on the Kakanui Mountain Range and gives our stud the ability to challenge our cows in the climatic conditions that mirror the challenges that their genetics will face, on commercial properties throughout the country.

A tight calving pattern, easy calving on the hill blocks and the ability to get in calf at 15 months of age, and again easily a year later are all key performance indicators that we place a huge importance on. 

We need to ensure that our stud cows live up to the highest of expectations in the field as well as on paper and this is one of our guiding principles – performance in the paddock and on paper.
